Narrative Description of Project

The Bishkek – Naryn – Torugart road is an important regional trade corridor that forms part of the CAREC Transport Corridor 1. After concluding the works of rehabilitating its central section between km 272 and km 365, a new contract was concluded to perform road rehabilitation works within addendum packages including sections 1 and 2.

Section 1 includes works for rehabilitation and reconstruction of 6 roads on At-Bashy district as follows:

Rehabilitation of Sulaimanov street
Rehabilitation of Sulaimanov street
Rehabilitation of Salymbekova street
Rehabilitation of Omurakunova street
Rehabilitation of Imanberdieva street
Rehabilitation of Chech-Dobo street

Section 2 includes works for reconstruction of On-Archa-Jany-Talap-Ashyrma road as follows:

Works included the construction of junctions and drainage works.

The project roads total length is 28 Km.

Value of construction works $8,606,180

Description of Actual Services Provided

Monitoring the setting out of the works by contractor;
Checking and inspecting for approval of all working drawings and as-built drawing prepared by contractor;
Reviewing the contractor’s quality program;
Quality control
Environmental monitoring
Construction control, measuring the quantities of approved and accepted works and materials and checking, and certifying contractor’s monthly payment certificates;
Conduct negotiations with contractor and preparation of recommendations for MOTR with regard to rates for any items of work;
Preparation of monthly progress report for MOTR and financing agencies;
Inspection and certification of works and facilities upon completion of the construction and commencement of 12 months Defect Liability period;
Preparation of Completion Report.
