Capacity Building for Kirkuk Governorate Directorate (Management) Project

Narrative Description
of Project

UNDP in partnership with the Government of Iraq and the Funding Facility for Immediate Stabilization (FFIS), has engaged TEAM International as an experienced capacity building service provider to conduct training courses to improve the capacity of government personnel in various directorates of Kirkuk Governorate. The key target groups are official employees who work in different directorates.

Description of Actual Services Provided

This project provides 360 public employees with the skills and knowledge, in Management.

The courses addressed are:

  1. Management Skills for Engineers and Technicians.
  2. Information Systems in the Service of Management.
  3. Professional Project Management
  4. Skills of Preparing & Writing Administrative Correspondence and Reports.

All courses are for a duration of one week, and implemented several times, using a framework methodology based on the following technical steps:

  • Project policy directives and Training Needs Assessment (TNA).
  • Setting training objectives and designing training contents and material.
  • Selecting training approach.
  • Delivering of training courses.
  • Program Evaluation (pre and post assessment, by participants, by trainers), and Interim and final reporting.

A specific IT System application is used by the trainers and participants to expose them to the computerized applications presented, among others: Veronisoft IP Network, Camtasia Explorer, MS Access, Primavera, Microsoft Project, MS Office…
