Narrative Description
of Project

The Bishkek – Naryn – Torugart road is an important regional trade corridor that forms part of the CAREC Transport Corridor 1. After concluding the works of rehabilitating its central section between km 272 and km 365, a new contract was concluded to perform road rehabilitation works within two packages C and D.

Package C includes works for rehabilitation of 6 roads and construction of new water supply pipe as follows:

  1. Rehabilitation of On-Archa –Echki-Bashi Road between km 0+870-km 2+040 and between km 3+170-km 5+000
  2. Construction of Emgekchil Road between Km 0+000-Km 5+000
  3. Rehabilitation of Naryn Bypass between Km 0+000-Km 5+100
  4. Rehabilitation of Turdubaeva Street from Sheralieva str. to Naryn River between Km 0+000 – Km 0+600
  5. Rehabilitation of Orozbakov str. from Andabekov St. to AK -Moor Street between Km 0+000- Km 1+341
  6. Rehabilitation of Razzakov Str. to Maternity hospital between Km 0+000 -Km 0+450

Construction of New Water Supply Pipe along Razzakova and Sheralieva Streets

Package D includes works for rehabilitation and construction of 3 roads as follows:

  1. Rehabilitation of Kochkor-Isakeev road between Km 0+000- Km 3+20
  2. Rehabilitation of Shahta-Tuz road between Km 5+000- Km 7+000 and Km 7+000-Km 11+000
  3. Rehabilitation of Kochkor-Kommunizm road between Km 62+00- Km 68+00

The project roads total length is 30.59 Km.

Value of construction works $8,377,857.93

Description of Actual Services Provided

  1. Monitoring the setting out of the works by contractor;
  2. Checking and inspecting for approval of all working drawings and as-built drawing prepared by contractor;
  3. Reviewing the contractor’s quality program;
  4. Quality control
  5. Environmental monitoring
  6. Construction control, measuring the quantities of approved and accepted works and materials and checking, and certifying contractor’s monthly payment certificates;
  7. Conduct negotiations with contractor and preparation of recommendations for MOTR with regard to rates for any items of work;
  8. Preparation of monthly progress report for MOTR and financing agencies;
  9. Inspection and certification of works and facilities upon completion of the construction and commencement of 12 months Defect Liability period;
  10. Preparation of Completion Report.
