Information, Management and Finance Technology Training for Kirkuk and Al-Shirqat District Project

Narrative Description
of Project

UNDP in partnership with the Government of Iraq and the Funding Facility for Immediate Stabilization (FFIS), has engaged TEAM International as an experienced capacity building service provider to conduct training courses to improve the capacity of government personnel in District of Al-Shirqat and Kirkuk. The key target groups are official governmental employees who work in different directorates in Al-Shirqat District and Kirkuk.

Description of Actual Services Provided

This project provides 211 public employees from the directorates with the skills and knowledge in Management, Information Technology, Human Resources Management and Finance.

The courses addressed are:

  1. Internet Core Competency (IC3).
  2. Human Resource Management.
  3. Accounting Auditing, detecting violations and fraud, and managing financial investigations.

All courses are for a duration of one week, and repeated several times, using a framework methodology based on the following technical steps:

  • Project policy directives and Training Needs Assessment (TNA).
  • Setting training objectives.
  • Designing training contents and material.
  • Selecting training approach.
  • Delivering of training courses.
  • Program Evaluation (pre and post assessment, by participants, by trainers).
  • Interim, weekly and final reporting.

A specific IT System application is used by the trainers and participants to expose them to the computerized applications presented, and the use of PCs through presentations, exercises, hands on training, group sessions, case studies, …
