Lakes and Dams Construction Program in Lebanon

Narrative Description
of Project

The Green Plan in Lebanon is the government agro-ecological body under the Ministry of Agriculture, engaging in environmental projects including construction and management of Dams and Lakes, and preserving greenery in Lebanon.

TEAM International was requested to prepare a program to develop the techniques, skills and know how of 20 engineers towards the design and construction of new Dams and Lakes, and the assessment and development of the existing ones.

The program covered the following topics:

  • Situational Analysis of Dams and Lakes in Lebanon
  • Techno-economic aspects of building Dams and Lakes
  • Preliminary and complementary related studies: geology, hydrology, evapotranspiration, social and environmental
  • Office application of drawings, technical and complementary studies
  • Field visits : Two Dams and Mountain Lakes
  • Recommendations for future development of Dams and Lakes

The experts prepared and presented the latest techniques and state of the art in the fields of dam design, including geology, topography, evapotranspiration and hydrology in various aspects of Dams and Lakes design and construction.
