Ninewah Governorates Directorates Capacity Building Project- Construction / Management Training Package (Lot 1)

Narrative Description
of Project

The objective of this project is to assist line directories employees within the Ninawa governorate to develop and sustain construction management and procurement capacities. The management training package includes:

  1. Construction management and quality control on-site
  2. Government of Iraq guidelines, drafting BoQs and tender documents, procurement and contract
  3. Health and safety on-site
  4. Leadership and strategic planning

Description of Actual Services Provided

The scope of work includes the completion of the following training programs:

  • Capacity support for local governments, boosting their immediate response and capacity to cope with the stabilization process, by insuring the proper use and maintenance of these facilities, and to organize two sets of technical training for the relevant Ninewah line directorates that include:
    1. General technical engineering training, which includes: on-site construction management, BoQ writing, drafting tender documents, designing structural, electrical, and mechanical elements, planning and managing maintenance works, health and safety on-site, environmental management, use of IT, etc.
    2. Specialized technical training for the operation and maintenance of specific equipment and systems such as water pumps, power transformers, hospital medical equipment, etc.
  • Adoption of participatory interactive approaches; Pre-assignment, exercises, and group work that will enhance and facilitate the participants’ knowledge and understanding.
  • Software support throughout the training period and assistance to participants in the software installation process.
