Narrative Description of Project
The traffic management and on-street parking management component of the Urban Transport Development Project (UTDP) were prepared and designed by TEAM International.
The traffic management program includes installing modern adaptive signal control on over 200 intersections in Greater Beirut, video surveillance along 4 major corridors, construction and equipping a building for the Traffic Management Organization which includes also the communication networks (fiber optic, SSR, and leased lines) and intersection re-channelization and spot improvement.
The on-street parking component includes installation of about 700 pay-and-display park meters and equipping the operational staff with hand held ticket-writers, wheel immobilizers and other equipment.
The contractor will operate and maintain the system for 3 years.
The project implementation will cost USD 25,000,000
